Whiteley Gold Plated Needlework Scissors

These are a real treat! They're made in Sheffield, England by William Whiteley & Sons (founded in 1760), and are covered by their lifetime guarantee. Gold plated, they're hand-made, assembled and tested by craftsmen using the skill and techniques honed and handed down over centuries.

Queen Elizabeth II was handed a pair as a gift when she was in Sheffield opening their Winter Gardens in 2003. Normally, she'd hand gifts over to her ladies in waiting - so delighted with these, she popped them in her handbag instead!
